Here is how The Daily Post reported the story of Michael’s upgraded system.

Former football star Michael Owen has zoomed in on potential intruders with a state-of-the art security system that he can use around the globe.

The former England, Liverpool and Real Madrid star contacted Flintshire firm AGS Security Systems when he wanted to upgrade security at this Northop mansion.

AGS have now installed a 25 camera strong system with the latest technology that will give the football pundit “peace of mind”.

Michael Owen praised the company for their work saying the original system dated back to when he bought the house back in 2001, the day he scored a hat trick in the famous 5-1 England victory over Germany.

Jonathan Turner, MD at AGS Security Systems, said: “We were recommended to Michael as a local firm that could provide world standard security for his home.

“We have designed and installed a full upgrade of his security system.

“This is state of the art equipment. There are 25 to 30 cameras at the site.

“The last thing you want is for your house to look like Fort Knox, so the cameras are discreetly located to provide full cover of the property without being imposing.

“It gives Michael and his family peace of mind. He does travel a lot and this allows him access to the system from anywhere in the world.”

Michael Owen has been so pleased with the result that he has taken part in a promotional video for AGS by Picture House Films.

AGS technical director Mark Buxton said: “The HD IP camera system means that when motion is detected it is analysed and the cameras spring into action and they are then picked up by the monitoring station.

“It then offers live monitoring, as well as recordings of any activity.

“The cameras track any motion automatically as well as allowing manual control from the station if needed.

“A decision can then be made on the next action, whether to respond personally or call the police. The response will be rapid.

“This system takes full advantage of latest technology and the images it produces are stunningly good.”
