Case Studies

Chester Zoo

The UK’s number-one zoo needed a new, efficient CCTV and access-control system to secure and monitor a very large area. We created a central hub that is manned by the zoo’s security team and also used by keepers to monitor the animals. The system uses vandal-resistant dome cameras and digital video, which allows for viewing archives and recording at the same time.

Kingswood Colomendy Campus

Kingswood Colomendy Campus is a 200-acre outdoor pursuit centre in Denbighshire that welcomes 500 children a week. The lodge and entrance gate are over 1km from the main site, where staff needed to monitor and manage access. We installed automated security gates, CCTV and an audiovisual connection via the internet, saving £10,000 on the cost of ‘hardwiring’ the connection via a buried cable.

Argoed Community Council

The council wanted to stop antisocial behaviour at its Mercia Square facilities and, if need be, collect evidence that could stand up in court. We installed a network of dome cameras with motion sensing, allowing them to focus in on incidents. Police have remote access to the cameras, and the local pub can even use the footage to deter troublemakers. Local residents now feel safe when using the facilities.

Prestatyn High School

Prestatyn High School, the largest school in North Wales, needed an access control system to secure their entire building, as well as the classrooms within it. Our solution locks the front doors at 9am, forcing latecomers to own up at the school office, and secures corridors for 40-minute periods during lessons.

Denbighshire County Council

Denbighshire County Council owns a large number of buildings and facilities across the county. They selected AGS as their sole provider of fire systems and emergency lighting county-wide. We currently monitor and maintain a total of 500 fire-alarm units on behalf of the council.
